This may be the most remote Longleaf floor to date! Deep in Maine’s North Woods and miles from paved roads, power lines, and the neighborhood Dunkin’, this Skip-Planed Factory Maple floor has traveled more than most.
Nestled along the shoreline of logging country’s Aziscohos Lake, Bosebuck Mountain Camps is a sportsman’s paradise. Trout and landlocked salmon infest the lake and its tributaries, drawing anglers from throughout the country. Made famous by U.S. president Eisenhower and Boston Brahmin vacationers, the nearby Magalloway river continues to entice New England’s most fanatic fisherman, including a number of Longleaf employees. Needless to say, we’re overjoyed to have been able to play a part in the renovation of one of our favorite Maine buildings.
The Bosebuck reclaimed maple floor was salvaged from turn-of-the-century factories and re-milled with fresh tongues, grooves, rebates, and a skip-planed surface. Selected by Bosebuck for hardness and durability, these boards will handle the summer traffic and harsh winter well, without sacrificing their rugged good looks.
The pictures below were e-mailed to us just after installation, so we don’t have any of the finished space. Looks like we’ll have to schedule a trip to Bosebuck for a “photo shoot” this summer!
