Reclaimed Red Oak & White Oak Wood Flooring
(Quercus rubra & Quercus alba)
Our reclaimed oak flooring ranges in coloration, size, and character. The traditional oak flooring features knots, some nailholes, and occasional surface checking. This character, along with inherent strength and water-resistant qualities, has made reclaimed red or white oak a floor of choice for homeowners, woodworkers, and green builders time and time again.
Reclaiming from industrial, residential, and agrarian sources, Longleaf Lumber goes out of its way to source antique oak timber that possesses unusual age, rustic character, and size. With a natural habitat ranging from Quebec to Florida, oaks have played a major role in the development of American infrastructure. In the centuries past and present, species have been used in shipbuilding, mill assembly, barn construction, and residential building.
Longleaf mills antique tongue-and-groove oak flooring in 3/4” thickness, with widths ranging from 2.5”-12”. We expertly mend wider red and white oak boards with butterfly and Dutchman patches. Flooring can be ordered as single species (red or white Oak), a blend of both, or as a skip-planed floor. Extra wide oak plank floorboards can be milled to order.
