Osterburg, PA ~ 1855
This barn in Osterburg, Pennsylvania, yielded top-notch hand-hewn oak beams and beautiful white pine board stock.
Located in the far reaches of southern Pennsylvania, Osterburg is an unincorporated community of Bedford County. Hot on the trail of massive White Oak beams, we found this circa 1855 post-and-beam barn to be a very special source of reclaimed material.
The barn had been well-maintained throughout most of its lifespan, and had stood up to the elements just as well as its builders had likely intended. Salvaging and loading the material was a relatively easy process…we had plenty of room to maneuver!
