Custom Reclaimed Wood Stair Treads & Mouldings
A complex and nuanced craft, finish carpentry melds fine lumber with master woodworkers, producing the highly visible details that assert the elegance and sophistication of a room. Characteristics of reclaimed wood – grain density, patterns, and color – make antique timber products distinctly coveted for finish applications.
Longleaf millworkers transform a number of species into a wide range of finish products: stair treads, nosings, door and window casings, and custom mouldings.
Mouldings are milled on a custom specification and order basis. Casing stock is available in 1”x4” – 1”x10” sizes. Thresholds are carried as Heart Pine, American chestnut, and white pine inventory. They are milled to standard widths of 4.5” and 5.5”.
Longleaf Lumber carries reclaimed wood stair tread inventory in 3/4” and 4/4” finished thicknesses. Treads typically feature a bullnose along one length, run 3’-5’ in length, and span 10.5” or 11.5”. Stair treads are generally milled in Heart Pine, American chestnut, White Pine, red oak, and white oak.
