Clear #1 Quartersawn Heart Pine: Our biggest selling product. Clear quartersawn heart pine was the flooring of choice prior to the depletion of the Longleaf forests. Very few, if any, "pin knots" (under 1/2") or small nail holes. No checking. Growth rings 8 to the inch and greater. Generally very dense material. 100% heartwood. Truly quartersawn, no rift. Flooring available in widths from 2-1/2" to 5".
Select #2 Quartersawn Heart Pine: This material contains some knots up to ± 1" in diameter. Occasional nail holes, minimal light checking, and mineral stains may occur. Growth rings 8 to the inch and greater. 90% or better heartwood content. Some rift (up to 10%) is allowed. Flooring available in widths from 2-1/2" to 4-1/2".

Select #2 Flatsawn Heart Pine: Compare Longleaf's #2 grade with our competitors' #1 grade. Knots up to ± 1" in diameter. Occasional nail holes, minimal light checking and mineral stains may occur. Growth rings 8 to the inch and greater. 90% or better heartwood content. Flooring available in widths from 2-1/2" to 11-1/2".
Rustic #3 Flooring: Referred to by other companies as "Cabin Grade". Rustic grade material consists of both quartersawn and flatsawn material. This is a very visually active floor. Solid knots of any size allowed. Nail holes, solid checking, mineral stains and plugged bolt holes allowed. Ring density is highly variable. Heartwood content ranges greatly. Flooring available in widths from 2-1/2" to 11-1/2".
Naily "Buckshot" Heart Pine: This floor is sawn from the tops of structural timbers which had structural decking nailed to them with 1/4" spikes. The resulting nail pattern is a random "buckshot" distribution of black holes. Very cool. This grade is popular with bar and restaurant builders. Knots may or may not occur in this grade. Nail hole content? Peppered. Ring density is generally 8 to the inch and greater. Heartwood content is generally 90% and better. Flooring available in widths from 2-1/2" to 10-1/2".
